Mary Elizabeth "Bobo" Weiland, died October 10, 2013, at Countryside Home, Madison, Nebraska. Mary was born on May 13, 1923, on the family farm near Meadow Grove, Nebraska the daughter of John William and Elizabeth R. (Zieren) Weiland.

Mary was baptized at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Tilden, Nebraska. After completing her first three grades in Meadow Grove, Nebraska her family moved a short distance west of Madison, Nebraska. Mary graduated from St. Leonard's School in May of 1936. She was also confirmed in that month. For grades 9th thru 11th, Mary attended Madison (NE.) Public High School. Mary completed her high school education at St. Bonaventure, Raeville, Nebraska by graduating on May 11, 1940.

On September 20, 1940, Mary entered the Missionary Benedictine Sister's Community, Norfolk, Nebraska. She pronounced her temporary vows on May 24, 1943.

After attending Creighton University, on June 7, 1946, Mary graduated and returned to Norfolk, Nebraska. She took the State Boards and became a Registered Nurse. In September of 1946, Mary began her career at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in the operating room. On May 26, 1947, she made her perpetual vows.

While doing her duties at the hospital, she became an accredited records technician. In August of 1949, she enrolled in the School of Anesthesia at Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, South Dakota. She became a registered nurse anesthetist. For the next 37 years, Mary administered anesthesia at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Norfolk, Nebraska.

In October of 1977, she asked and received a dispensation from her vows due to medical health reasons. She returned to Madison, Nebraska to live with her family and help care for them.

Mary is survived by: sister, Bernie Tighe and her husband Leo, of Madison, Nebraska and sister, Geri Loecker of Yankton, South Dakota; sister-in-law Mary Ellen Weiland, of Stanwood, Iowa numerous nieces and nephews and honorary grandkids.

Mary was preceded in death by: parents; brothers, Anthony, Francis, Leonard and Gerald Weiland and sister, Sally Ainsworth.

Interment was in St. Leonard's Catholic Church Cemetery, Madison, Nebraska.
