CURTIS STONE, 85, of Vanceburg, died Wednesday morning, January 7, 2009, at Golden Living Center in Vanceburg.

Born February 7, 1923, in Lewis County to the late Jim Ed and Laura Bloomfield Stone, he was a retired grocery store owner, school bus driver and life long farmer. Since the age of 19 he was a Christian and a member of Laurel Point Christian Holiness Church at Camp Dix.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Louise Fannin Stone; one daughter, Diana Lou (Dale) Clark of Camp Dix; one son, Gary Curtis (Joyce) Stone of Camp Dix; one brother, Delmas Stone of Camp Dix; one granddaughter, Laura (Matthew) Bond of Camp Dix; two great-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Naomi Liles; and four brothers, Tensley Stone, Glenn Stone, Ernest Stone and Earl Stone.

Services were at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 9, 2009, at Globe Funeral Chapel at Camp Dix with Bro. Clyde Holbrook and Bro. Forest Hedges officiating. Burial was in Morgan Cemetery at Head of Grassy.
