Paula graduated from Mount Merici Academy in Waterville. She and her husband, Ron, owned and operated Ron's Variety Store on Summer Street in Waterville for many years. She was a communicant of Notre Dame Church.
She was predeceased by her mother, Marie Veilleux, in 1997; and by a brother, Charles Veilleux, in 2010.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald L. Gilbert, of Waterville; two sons, Richard Gilbert, of Waterville, and Geno Gilbert, of Winslow; two daughters, Deborah Gilbert, of Waterville, and Michelle Shaw and husband Liam, of Gardiner; her father, Raymond Veilleux, and a brother, Raymond "Sonny" Veilleux, both of Smithfield; five grandchildren; two nieces and one nephew.
Committal prayers and burial will be in Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 163 Mount Vernon Road, Augusta. (Morning SEntinel 10/11/2013)
