Born in Cortland, she graduated from Cortland Normal School. She retired in 1974 as a deputy commissioner after 40 years with the Cortland County Department of Social Services. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, helped start Home Care in Cortland, and was involved with Cortland County Cooperative Extension.
Her husband, Roy, died in 1982; a daughter, Christine Aldrich, died in 1987.
Survivors: A sister, M. Roberta Porter of Cortland; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Wright-Beard Funeral Home and 11 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Cortland. Burial, St. Mary's Cemetery, Cortland. Calling hours, 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland.
