Frank W. Shaffner, 63, of 525 Mill Road, Clearfield, died Sunday, Jan. 4, in Clearfield Hospital.
Born in Howard, April 4, 1923, he was a son of Paul W. and Vera B. (Henchbarger) Shaffner.
Mr. Shaffner had retired from Harbison-Walker Refractories and was a member of West Side United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Punxsutawney Hunting Camp and Clearfield John Lewis Shade Post No. 6 of the American Legion. Mr. Shaffner was a Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving is his wife, the former Miriam "Mid" Gaines Jaco, whom he wed Aug. 28, 1970; one daughter, Mrs. Maynard (Linda) Conrad of Allentown; two step-sons, Fred Jaco of Morgantown, W.Va., and Frank Jaco of Pleasantville; two grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and these brothers and sisters: Walter of Rockton, Mrs. William (Betty) Koozer of Clearfield, Lois of Neward, N.Y., Mrs. Clarke (Helen) Rothfussi of Zephyr Hills, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, the former Jean Behmer; and several brothers and sisters.
Services will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. from The Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc., Clearfield, with Dr. Raymond D. Fravel officiating. Interment will follow in Crown Crest Memorial Park.
Friends will be received at the funeral home Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and until the hour of services on Wednesday.
