Services for Joe Vern Melton, 81, of Canton, Texas, are scheduled for 2:00 pm Thursday October 10, 2013 at Eubank Funeral Chapel with Bro. Robert Cunningham, Bro. Steve Glosup officiating, under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home, Canton.
Burial will be in Haven of Memories, Canton, Texas.
He passed away October 8, 2013 in Canton, TX.
Mr. Melton was born September 24, 1932 in Canton, TX, to William Madison and Leona Edith Tucker Melton.
He was a member of Jackson Missionary Baptist Church. Joe was born and raised in the Jackson Community. He was drafted in the Army and served two years at Fort Hood. Joe & Annie were married for 61 years. He drove a truck his entire life, hauling milk for 29 years and then propane for several years. Joe enjoyed watching football and working in his yard.
Surviving are Wife, Annie Lee Melton of Canton, TX, Son, Kelly & Pamela Melton of Farwell, TX, 6 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren, Sister, Daisey Parker, Sister, Betty Jacobs.
Joe was preceded in death by his Parents, Brother, Virgil Melton.
Pallbearers are Virgil Melton Jr., Rand Melton, Tony Melton, Paul Melton, Steve Jacobs, Jerry Jacobs and Honorary Pallbearers are Keith Tucker, Dennis Tucker, Todd Melton, Jud Melton, Fred Dorman, Donald Dunn.
