Actor. A delightful comic character player, he was often seen as a B western sidekick or a jittery urban type. His trademarks were bulging eyes, a slight stutter, and a hyperactive Adam's apple. Saylor appeared in some 360 films, among them "Horse Feathers" (1932), "If I Had a Million" (1932), "The Lost Jungle" (1934), "The Call of the Wild" (1935), "The Three Mesquiteers" (1936), "A Yank At Oxford" (1938), "Test Pilot" (1938), "Golden Boy" (1939), "Abe Lincoln in Illinois" (1940), "H. M. Pulham, Esq." (1941), "Yankee Doodle Dandy" (1942), "Gaslight" (1944), "Scarlet Street" (1945), "Sitting Pretty" (1948), "The Paleface" (1948), "Cheaper By the Dozen" (1950), "The Greatest Show on Earth" (1952), and "High Noon" (1952). He was born Leo Sailor in Chicago. His father, an engineer, was killed in the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. From 1926 to 1929 Saylor starred as George Snookums in the "Let George Do It" comedy two-reelers, 50 films in all. He was also active in televison. Saylor played Clem Pritikin on the series "The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin", and was one of the first performers to play Bozo the Clown, in 1949. He died of a heart attack.
