Obituary from the Edwardsville Intelligencer, Edwardsville, Madison County, Illinois, Friday, November 28, 1958, page 2:
  Mrs. Dorothy Doolittle, 60, of 2131 Monroe, Granite City, died Thursday morning at 1:33 at St. Elizabeth hospital there. She was born Feb. 20, 1898 in Edwardsville, a daughter of Fred and Annie Steigle Hanser.
  Mrs. Doolittle was a member of the New Hope Eastern Star, Chapter 432; St. Peter's United Church of Christ at Granite City and the Afternoon guild of the church.
  Survivors include her husband, Ralph E. Doolittle; one son and a daughter, Lester and Shirley Doolittle; both of Granite City; one brother, Earl Hanser, Edwardsville; and two grandchildren.
  Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. from St. Peter's church, 21st and Cleveland, Granite City, and burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery, Edwardsville. Friends may call at the Mercer funeral home, Granite City, after 7 p.m. Friday until 12 noon Sunday when the body will be taken to the church to lie in state until the service.
