  Funeral services for Frederick J. Hanser, 81, who died of a heart attack Thursday at 9 a.m. at his home, 426 Hanser street, will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Eden Evangelical church of which he was a member. The body may be viewed at the Marks-Weber funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening until noon Sunday when it will be taken to the Eden church to lie in state until the time of the services at 2 p.m.  The Rev. H.J. Bredehoeft will be in charge of the services and interment will be in Woodlawn.
  Mr. Hanser was the son of the late Frederick and Elizabeth Hanser and was born May 3, 1867, in Edwardsville. He had attained the age of 81 years, nine months and seven days. Mrs. Hanser, the former Anna Steidle, whom he married Sept. 12, 1895, survives him. He was a retired contractor and among the construction he supervised was erection of the Intelligencer building.
  Besides his wife he is survived by two sons, Harry C. and Earl F., both of this city; one daughter Mrs. Dorothy Doolittle of Granite City, three sisters, Mrs. Emma Heinrich and Mrs. Julia Rosipal of Edwardsville and Mrs. Elizabeth Fuhrman of McLean, Va., eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
  He was preceded in death by one brother, George F., and two sisters Mrs. Mary Abenbrink and Mrs. Mathilda McCune.
  Mr. Hanser was a member of the Edwardsville Volunteer fire department for more than 50 years and was affiliated with the Carpenters local 378, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and the Knights of Pythias.

Pallbearers, nephews, were Roy Hanser of Collinsville, George Hanser of East St. Louis, Edward Abenbrink, Clarence Heinrichs, Harry E. McCune and Ray Rohrkaste of Edwardsville.
