Gail (Cochran) Snyder, beloved wife and mother, of Chippewa Twp., died peacefully at age 61 on Monday, October 7, 2013. She spent her last days surrounded by her family and close friends.

She was born July 12, 1952, in Coatesville, PA, a daughter of the late Harry and Marion Rice Cochran. A faithful woman, she was a member of the Hibernia United Methodist Church, Coatesville, and regularly attended Pathway Church (formerly Chippewa Evangelical Free Church), where she not only attended several Bible studies, but also volunteered with the children's prayer groups. She graduated from Coatesville Area School and Waynesburg College with a teaching degree.

She had a life-long passion for teaching and service, and even after she retired as a teacher for Beaver County Head Start, where she was a member and past president of the ESPA Union, she returned frequently as a substitute teacher and assisted her friend at her daycare. She loved the beach and river, and was an avid boater. She was a lifetime member of the Beaver Valley Yacht Club, where she leaves behind many loving friends.

Surviving are her husband of 29 years, Dennis Snyder; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Stephanie Hunnell, Asbury Park, NJ; daughter and son-in-law, Rachel Nicole 'Nicki' and Edward Ertz, and first grandson Ethan, of Delanco, NJ; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Nancy Cochran, Roaring Branch, PA; sister in-law, Carol Cochran; brother-in-law, Jack Stapleton; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry Jr. and Chester Cochran, and a sister, Rosalie Stapleton.

Gail touched so many throughout her life. She had a love for all children that came into her life, and was always prepared to entertain them with a song for any occasion. She was selflessly dedicated to her family, friends and her faith. She will be greatly missed by her family.

Friends will be received for a celebration of her life on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the LUTTON CHIPPEWA FUNERAL HOME, 117 Blackhawk Road, www.luttonfuneralhome.com.

Interment will follow in Hibernia Church Cemetery, Coatesville, PA, on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, if you so desire, contributions in honor of Gail may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718, or online at https://donate.cancer.org.
