GRACE - Louis J. Stalker, 62, of Grace, died Saturday in a Salt Lake Hospital of injuries received in an auto accident north of Grace, Idaho Aug. 21, 1973.
He was born Jan. 15, 1911 in Mound Valley to Alma and Alfaretta Parmley Stalker. He married Gwen Hobbs Smith Nov. 24, 1928 in Logan.
He was a former mayor of Grace and prominent businessman in Grace and Soda Springs. He was co-owner of the Lasley and Stalker Chevrolet Co. in Grace from 1945-1959. He was co-owner of the Ace Chevrolet Co, at Soda Springs from 1959 until recently when he was co-owner of the Stalker Chevrolet Co.
He was past president of the Grace Lions Club, chairman of the Caribou County Democratic Party, served as chairman of the Idaho Automobile Dealers Association, and at the time of his death was a member of the Grace Planning Commission. He was a member of the Soda Springs Golf Club and enjoy golfing, hunting, fishing and bowling.
Survivors are his widow, a son, daughter and two grandchildren,three sisters, Mrs Russell (Tess) Brown of Portland, Ore., Mrs. Ethel Erhardt, Weiser, and Mrs. Fern Peeters of Bremerton, Wash.; three brothers and two sisters preceeded him in death.
Funeral services were Wednesday at 1:30 PM at the Bannock LDS Stake Center in Grace. Burial was in the Grace cemetery
