Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 12, 2013 at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church for Joseph H. Guilbeau, age 81, who passed away Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 10:45 p.m. at his residence in Grand Coteau.

Interment will be in St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery in Grand Coteau.

Mr. Guilbeau was a native and lifelong resident of Grand Coteau. He was a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Grand Coteau. Mr. Guilbeau was a veteran of the military having served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Lorena E. Guilbeau; one daughter, Joyce G. Taylor and her husband, Lawrence, of Destrehan; one grandson, Tech. Sgt. James A. Lewis, Jr. and his wife, Darolyn; four great grandchildren; two brothers, Paul Guilbeau and his wife, Mary Lou and James Guilbeau; one sister, Irene Landry; and in-laws, Lorena L. Guilbeau, Loubertha Guilbeau, Bernadette Guilbeau, Ann Guilbeau, Ophelia Guilbeau, Roosevelt Zachary (Erma), Johnny Edmond (Virgie), Clinton Edmond (Jewel), Oscar Edmond (Rosa), Alton Davis (Joyce) and Leona Eaglin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Aloysius Guilbeau and the former, Beatrice Moten, both natives of Grand Coteau; one daughter, Donna Faye Jackson; seven brothers, Charles Guilbeau, John Edward Guilbeau, Peter Guilbeau, Benedict Guilbeau, Xavier Guilbeau, Leroy Guilbeau and Anthony Guilbeau; and one sister, Margaret Dural.
