He was Captain of station 2 Freetown Fire Department 1989. His name appears on the plaque in the Fire Station. He was a lifelong Freetown resident and was self employed in the trucking business until he retired in 1977.
Survivors include his widow, three sons, two daughters, a sister, 17 grandchidren, 14 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Service to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Thurday at 10 AM at the Kirby Funeral Home, 61 Tarkiln Hill Road, New Bedford. Calling hours are Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9. Interment in Rounseville Cemetery, East Freetown. In lieu of floweres, it is suggested that memorial gift donations be made to the American diabetes Association, 1660 Duke Street, Alexandria Virginia.
