Pastor Bob N. Adams, age 81 of Oquawka,Illinois passed away at his residence on October 6,2013. Bob was born on October 30,1931 in Eureka,Illinois and is the son of Marse and Lucy Mae Golden Adams. Bob was raised and educated in Eureka and received his GED in 1972. He received his ministry schooling in Roseville, Illinois. Bob served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was married to Joanne Pingel on March 9, 1963 in Clarksville, Tennessee, and she is surviving. Bob began work at the "Tasty Grill" with Joanne in Roseville for a number of years then they enlarged in the old bank building and was known as the "Adams Family Inn" until 1975. Bob then worked with Hines and McClintock appliance store in Monmouth until their closing. He then worked as a driver for Randall's Bus Service in Galesburg. He later became a meat cutter at Hamilton's Grocery in Oquawka for several years. Bob began the Living Light and Life Tabernacle in Oquawka, to the present. He also did many funerals and employed by Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka, IL. Bob is survived by his wife, Joanne Adams of Oquawka, three sons Jerry Adams of East Peoria, Illinois, Robert N. (Gertrude) Adams, Jr of Bamburg, Germany, and Robert J.(Tracy) Adams of Goodhope,Illinois. Four daughters, Judy (Jeff) Johnson of Oquawka, Barbara (James) McGann of Oquawka, IL; Jo and (Jerry) Bailey of Gladstone,Illinois and Janet ( Troy) Havens of Farmington, Illinois. There are numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, three brothers, and one grandson.

Services: A funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Thursday October 10, 2013 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka, Illinois. Cremation will then be accorded. A visitation will be on Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. A memorial fund is established for Henderson County Hospice.
