ALWILDA DEATON CALLED BY DEATH

WI, Laona The Rev. W. Wolf conducted funeral services from the Nazarine Church here at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon for Mrs. Alwilda Deaton, 91, of Laona, who passed away Friday afternoon at the Ford Convalescent Home, Rhinelander, complications and a stroke. She had been in the home for about 4 months.

Pallbearers were John Lane, Howard Stamper, Hiram Stamper,
Hobart Spencer, Monroe Reeves and Richard Rugg. Flower girls Zannie, Mary Allen Thelma and Frieda Spencer.

Interment Argonne Protestant Cemetery. The Reese-Hall-Henson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs Deaton was born Dec. 2, 1858 at Filmore, KY. She was married to Alfred Deaton, who passed away in 1920. She came to Laona in 1926.

Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. John (Fannie) Stamper of Wide Creek, KY, Mrs. L (Maude) Kincaid of Beattyville, KY, Mrs. John (Stella) Davis of Primrose, KY, Mrs. Garfield (Lizzie) Stamper of Curtis, MI, and Mrs. Clay (Mary) Wilson of Laona, WI; two sons, Green of Argonne and Horton of Crandon; 57 grandchildren and 110 great grandchildren. A daughter, Kathryn, and a son, Millard, preceded her in death.
