Joanne Louise Jensen Mitchell

Our beloved, daughter, mother, sister, aunt and friend passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at the age of 56 after a long battle with disability and health problems. Joanne graduated from Clearfield High School and worked at Hill Air Force Base until the young age of 31 when she was injured in an automobile accident followed by over 24 years of health challenges.

Joanne was born in Ogden, Utah on August 13, 1957 to Lloyd Jesse Jensen and Jean J. Young Jensen Stockhaus (Otto Stockhaus). She married Kirk Mitchell in 1977 and they lived in Clinton, Utah for many years where they had one son, Tate Mitchell and dog Sadie.

Joanne loved going fishing, listening to Rod Stewart, watching M.A.S.H. and spending time with family and friends. Joanne has filled our lives with love, humility and a quick sense of humor. Joanne taught us that life isn't always fair, but a sense of humor can change a difficult day to a fun and humorous day. May she rest in peace and take solace in knowing that she fought a good fight and is free from the restraints of her body.

She is survived by her mother, Jean Stockhaus; son, Tate Mitchell; sisters, Julia Jensen and Diana Schippers (Glen Schippers), Joylynn Peasely, nieces, Jennifer Child (Gloria Shirley), Tiffany Nelson (Mike Nelson) and Kelly Keysar; and nephews, Nick Uremovich, Dustin Jensen and Tyler Jensen. She was preceded in death by her fathers, Lloyd J. Jensen and Otto Stockhaus, and her brother, Richard J. Jensen.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 30, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Chancellor Gardens, 1425 South 1500 East, Clearfield, Utah 84015. Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery.

Friends may send condolences at: 2285 South Sorrento Drive, Woods Cross, Utah 84087.

Services entrusted to Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
