Dr. T. U. Stephenson died of old age a Howell on Tuesday, August 13, 1901, aged 87 years. He was married to Miss Mary Ralston in September 1855. He was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church, and during his long life never committed an act that would bring reproach to himself or mar his Christian character. He was the father of J. C. and J. R. Stephenson, of Howell. Funeral by Rev. J. B. Tigert; burial at Rose Hill Cemetery.
