Martin CHANEY, a well-known and highly respected citizen of this place, died at 1:30 a.m. today. He had been in failing health for nearly a year from intestinal trouble. The deceased came to Bloomfield twenty-five years ago from Mineral, where he had been employed in the sawmill business with the late L. J. FAUCETT. Since his residence here, he has been employed at the FAUCETT and the FAUCETT-VANMETER Chair Factory. He was married at Coal City to Mary Ellen HUBBELL on February 11, 1892, and besides the widow, he leaves three children as follows: Blanche CHANEY, Earl CHANEY and Mrs. Pearl ROACH. The deceased was born near the FLATER schoolhouse, north of Mineral, on March 10, 1863. He was a member of the Methodist church and was an Odd Fellow. The funeral services will be held at the family residence Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock. Interment in Grand View Cemetery.
