THE CHILDREN'S HOME of Cincinnati, Ohio (Letter dated Noveber 28, 1984)
According to our records of July 19, 1911 - August 18, 1911, Marguerite (born May 8, 1899), Frank (born October 31, 1900), and Pearl (born August 23, 1903) Ford were admitted to The Children's Home on July 19 and discharged on August 18, 1911.
The Children's mother, Iva, had died 2 1/2 years previously in Denver, Colorado. Their father, Frank E. Ford, had remarried and his current wife also had children. The stepmother, Carrie O'Donnel Ford, had sent the children from Denver to Cincinnati as she felt she could not care for them. George Hall of Cincinnati was Iva's brother, and the new Mrs. Ford hoped that he would care for the children, though he could not.
The record mentions that Clarence remained with his father in Denver. Mr. Ford had been the proprietor of the "Blind Tiger," a "cafe and poolhouse."
According to our records the children had been in the Denver Orphan's Home preceding and after Iva's death.
On August 18, 1911, the Juvenile Court committed the children to the Home of Refuge.

Frank died 21 Sep. 1947, murdered near Brush, Colorado, Kidnapped from his work at a gasoline service station on 46th and Brighton Blvd. by Paul Schneider who had a long record, who was captured in October in Kentucky. & tried and sentenced to die (17 Dec 1949) at the Colorado State Pen. (Canon City) Trial was held at Akron, Colorado. There were 9 reprieves before Paul was put to death.
