SHREVEPORT, LA- Graveside services for Vernon S. Butler, 87, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Providence Cemetery in Ringgold, LA, Pastor Diane Brown will officiate. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 4, 2013 at Rose-Neath's Southside Funeral Home.
Vernon was born June 14, 1926 to John and Ethel Butler and passed away on October 2, 2013. He was a life-long resident of Shreveport and retired from Holsum Bakery and a Presbyterian. He enjoyed fishing and the NASCAR racing. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Juliet Coon. He is survived by his wife, Frankie Woodall Butler; son, Brian Butler and wife, Rebecca; grandchildren, Allen and Brooke Butler.
Pallbearers will be Roy Ginn, Cody Ginn, Jim Woodall, Sr., Jim Woodall, Jr., John Flores and Danny Bozeman.
