Stella Day Newman passed away Saturday February 18, 2006 at Heritage Care.
Mrs. Newman was born in Wilkes County December 20, 1916 to Richard and Albirttie Tilley Day.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Newman was preceded in death by two brothers Johnny Day and Sam Day, three sisters Edna Harper, Marie Creed, and Pauline Martin.
Survivors include her husband of 70 years Dallas Ather Newman of the home, one son David L. Newman and wife Sheila of Elkin, three brothers, R.B. Day, Edworth Day both of Winston Salem and Fred Day of Elkin, three sisters Sue Long of East Bend, Ruby Hawks of Ellerby, and Willie Newman of Elkin.
Funeral services for Mrs. Newman will he held Tuesday February 21, 2006 at 11:00am at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
