Mrs. Harper was born Sept. 9, 1918, in Surry County to Richard F. and Alberta Tilley Day.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Brent Sparks; her first husband, Howard Sparks; her second husband, Bill Harper; two brothers, Johnny Day and Sam Day; and a sister, Marie Day Creed.
Survivors include three brothers, Fred J. Day of Elkin and Joe Edworth Day and Richard B. Day, both of Winston-Salem; five sisters, Pauline Martin, Stella Newman and Willie Newman, all of Elkin, Sue Long of East Bend and Ruby Hawks of Ellerbe; a sister-in-law, Betty Day, of King; a daughter of her heart, Sharon Robertson of East Bend.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 10, at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
