William Binks Lafferty born 18 Aprl 1873 Decater, Wise County, TX at his grandparents Lipsey ranch. Will died 7 Mar 1909 on Lafferty ranch. Buried in small cemetery six miles from his ranch. Chaves County, New Mexico section 12. He married 19 April 1896 in Vernon, Walberger, Texas to Mary Della McKinney born 4 Mar 1878 Mephis, Texas died 26 Oct 1964 San Antonio, TX

+He had land in Hutchinson County and Hill County started his family there. He moved to New Mexico with his parents. He, his parents and his sister, Sophronia all bought land next to each other. He and his wife purchased their land in 1908 in Chaves County where Phronia had her father had already bought land two years prior. There he had a ranch, raised Cattle and farmed a little. He was shot with a shotgun during a robbery while he was up in checking out the Lafferty land. His brother (my father) Jim said of his brother "that they cut him in half".
+After Williams's death Mary was left with six young children to raise. She sold her land. Moved to the town where the University of New Mexico.. A & M There she bought a boarding house.
She boarded university students. She married a second time to an Engineering student 13 years her Junior. Jessie Hugh Thomasson. They retired to San Antonio Texas where she died in 1964. Jessee died in Texas and buried in cemetery with his wife in San Antonio, Texas in 1973.
