John Tilman Albert Howard was born in Marion county, Iowa, August 10, 1868, and died at Patterson Memorial Hospital in Belleville May 21, 1930, having reached the age of 61 years, 9 months and 11 days. His parents moved from Iowa to Washington county, Kansas, when John was about 2 years old, and settled on a homestead six miles east of Cuba, where he grew to manhood.

The parents again moved to the town of Cuba and it was while living here that he was married to Hannah Jane Andrews on January 21, 1889. To this union three children were born, Mrs. Lloyd Beecher of Belleville, Olive Lonoria, who died in infancy, and Bertha Ellen at home with the mother.

John is the last remaining member of his generation, having neither father, mother, uncle, aunt, sister nor brother living. His brother, James having preceded him on January 1 this year.

Mr. Howard leaves his loving wife, two daughter and two grandchildren, Ruth and Howard Beecher, and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his departure. John was converted in Belleville 23 years ago and has lived an active Christian life since that time. Two years later he sought and professed the blessing of entire sanctification. He was faithful in attendance at church and assumed many responsibilities in carrying on the Lord's work. John has lived in and near Belleville for the past 39 years.

Funeral services were held Friday at the Wesleyan Church, conducted by Rev. Francis M. Jones, with burial in the Hawks cemetery, six miles east of Cuba.
