Services for Thomas B. Downing, 81, of 2502 W. Garden, retired glazier who died at 6:45 a.m. yesterday at Proctor Hospital, where he was admitted Jan 21, will be at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at Davison Funeral Home.
The Rev. John Strohschein of Christ Lutheran Church will officiate, and burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
Friends may call at the funeral home 6 to 8 tonight.
Mr. Downing was a glazier 50 years, retiring 10 years ago. He was a member of the Lutheran Church and had lived in Peoria since 1919.
Born July 9, 1890 in Athens, Ill., the son of Isaac N. and Ara Adna Hill Downing, he was married to Alta May Holland in Springfield June 1, 1911.
Surviving are his widow; one son, Edward of Rock Island; five daughters, Mrs. Edwin (Vivian) Ganion of Creve Coeur, Mrs. Carl (Pauline) Baer, Mrs. John (Dorothy) Sutter and Mrs. Eugene (Betty) Moore, all of Peoria, and Mrs. Charles (LaDean) Lenz of Groveland; 18 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Arthur (Elsie) Buenneke of Peoria, and several nieces and nephews. Hew was preceded in death by one daughter, four sons, two sisters and three brothers.
