Aubrey Allen was the only son of Thomas Havis and Leona Gartman Allen. His only sibling, a sister, Bernice Allen Chipman, died in 1963. He married Mildred Moring and had three children, James Edward, Linda Carol, and William Thomas. After he and Mildred divorced, he married Joey Elizabeth Puckett Mashburn and became the stepfather to her daughter, Rhonda Jo. He was a charter member of First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Sheridan, Arkansas. He was well known for his beautiful tenor voice and had many requests to sing at various functions all over the state.
