DEXTER -- The funeral for Rose Anna Nicol was today at Dexter United Methodist Church with the Rev. Rob Gamble officiating. Burial was in the Dexter Cemetery.
Mrs. Nicol, 89, of Community Memorial Nursing Home in Spring Valley, formerly of Dexter, died Friday (Feb. 21, 1997) at the nursing home.
Rose A. Rabine was born Dec. 15, 1907, in Dexter and graduated from Elkton High School. On Jan. 2, 1930, she married Clifford Nicol. Her husband was a self-employed carpenter. He died in 1986. Mrs. Nicol lived in Dexter all her life before entering the nursing home in August 1994. She was a member of Dexter United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.
Survivors include a daughter, Maxine (Mrs. Wayne) Biddlingmeier of Searcy, Ariz.; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Melvin Rabine. Three sisters and a brother preceded her in death.
The Adams Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Her pacemaker was worn out and she would not let the doctors put a new one in.

She had been in the nursing home in Spring Valley for many years. Sevices for Rose were at the Dexter United Methodist Church with Rob Gamble officiating. Pall bearers were Peter Kuhlmann, Dale Allen, Curt Utpadel, Fred Harvey, Wayne Harvey, and Darell Pries.
