Billy Ray Boone, 70, of Steele, Mo., died Monday, March 24, 2003 at the Heritage Nursing Center in Kennett, Mo.
Born February 14, 1933, in Montgomery, Ala., he was the son of the late John Boone and Lois Yeager Boone. [His family never lived in Montgomery. He was born in Hanceville, Cullman Co, AL, per census records and his Social Security Application.]
Billy was united in marriage to Ruby Neeley on March 9, 1958, in Cooter, Mo.
He was a farmer.
Mr. Boone leaves his wife, Ruby Boone, of Steele; four daughters: Doris Lilly, Diane Lucas, Nancy Boone, and Carolyn Murphy; two sons: Andy Boone, and Timmy Boone; one brother: John Boone; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Boone were held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 27, 2003 at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Steele with Bro. Mike Welch officiating.
Burial was at the Mount Zion Cemetery in Steele with John W. German Funeral Home of Steele in charge.
Pallbearers were Bobby Johnson, Hubert Johnson, Andy Boone, Terry Lilly, Steven Lilly, and Charlie Lucas.
