She was born in Mill Gap on December 3, 1925, a daughter of the late William Roy and Josephine Catherine (Page) Pullin. On May 3, 1947 she married Robert Bickley Wade, whom preceded her in death on December 3, 1989.
Gardening was Jackie’s passion, a member of Green Hill United Methodist Church, who enjoyed cooking for church events, especially using her harvest and was known for her German chocolate cake. She also volunteered her time to the Mill Gap Ruritans to help with community events. She had worked at Cox’s Variety, Maple Restaurant and Aileen’s Sewing Factory. She enjoyed crocheting when she had quiet time. Above all she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by daughter, Linda Lee Helmick; grandchildren, Jeremy and Brandi Helmick; sister, Millie P. Gordon; brothers William Roy Pullin Jr. and infant brothers Gene and Curtis Pullin.
Jackie is survived by her son, R.B. Wade Jr. and wife, Patsy of Crozet; daughter, Lillian Grace Botkin of Monterey; four grandchildren, Denise Simmons, Cindy Botkin, Roberta Stanley and Dennis “JR” Botkin Jr.; as well as six great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Obaugh Funeral Home with pastor Bobbi Jo Gardner officiating. Burial will follow in Wade Family Cemetery, Mill Gap.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday, September 27 at the funeral home.
