LUNENBURG - Dwight F. "Doc" Rand, 72, of 150 Reservoir Road, died yesterday in Burbank
Hospital.
He leaves a daughter, Brenda L. Matson of Lunenburg; a brother, Jerome Rand of South
Lyndboro, N.H.; and three grandchildren.
He was born in Burlington, Vt., son of Harold M. and Irene V. (Jerome) Rand.
He came to Fitchburg as a child and was a 1934 graduate of Fitchburg High School and also
attended Holy Cross College. He moved to Lunenburg 30 years ago.
He served in the Civil Air Patrol in World War II.
He was a retired turbine tester for General Electric in Fitchburg, where he worked for many years and was a former steward and president of the company's electrical union.
He was a member and past president of the Fitchburg Eagles and raced automobiles for a hobby.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow in Bosk Funeral Home, 85 Blossom St. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. T here will be no calling hours.
