The funeral for Dixie Lynn Price, a Clarkston High School graduate, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church at Clarkston. The Rev. David Schroeder of Clarkston will officiate.

The 58-year-old Seattle resident died Jan. 5 at Harborview Medical Center at Seattle of injuries received when she was struck by a car in a Seattle crosswalk.

She was born Sept. 17, 1935, at Uniontown to Andrew and Evelyn Hagen Gross. She graduated from CHS in 1953 and received a bachelor's degree in interior design from Washington State University at Pullman.

She married John Paul Price Aug. 31, 1959, and they divorced in 1978.

She was one of a group of volunteers who founded the Kirkland (Wash.) Food Bank in the basement of the Kirkland Congregational Church in 1971.

After her divorce, she began working with the Multi-Service Centers of North and East King County as a caseworker, helping the needy find jobs, food and shelter.

She left the agency in July 1991 to serve as assistant director of the Puget Sound Alliance, an environmental protection group at Seattle.

She enjoyed the outdoors, especially the water, as well as walking and canoeing. She also enjoyed country-western dancing, painting, sketching and reading poetry.

Survivors include three sons, Michael John Price of Kirkland, and Steven Paul Price and David Scott Price, both of Seattle; her mother and stepfather, Evelyn Gross Teed and Forde Teed, both of Clarkston; and three grandchildren.

Her father and an infant daughter, Susan Lynn Price, died previously.

Visitation is scheduled from 2 to 5 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday at Merchant Funeral Home at Clarkston. Following her funeral, burial will be held at Normal Hill Cemetery at Lewiston.

The family suggests memorials be sent to the Puget Sound Alliance, 130 Nickerson, Seattle, Wash. 98109.
