Adeline A. Wagner, 85, formerly of 805 First St., Kiel died Sunday, December 4, 2005 at Calumet Homestead Rehabilitation Center, New Holstein
Adeline was born on April 26, 1920 in the town of Russell, Sheboygan Co., daughter of the late Katie Schuler Polster & Louis Polster.
She attended grade school in the town of Russell & Stockbridge , and graduated from Elkhart Lake High School in May of 1938.
On April 12, 1947 she married Walter A. Wagner at St. Gregory Parsonage, St. Nazianz.
Walter preceded her in death on November 15, 1993.
Adeline worked at the Red Owl Store in Kiel until her retirement in 1980.
Adeline was a member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Kiel where she volunteered her time bringing Holy Communion to shut-ins and was a member of the Christian Women's Society. She was a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society and spent many hours volunteering at Vinnie's Pantry and the Senior Center, Kiel. She also was a member of the Happy Hour Homemakers and Kiel VFW Post 6707 Auxiliary. She also worked with the Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts when her children where involved. She knitted hundreds of mittens, sweaters and afghans in her lifetime, and enjoyed gardening and doing cross word puzzles.
Adeline is survived by one daughter, Donna Marie (Jim) Backus, Eau Claire and three sons: Dr. Ronald (Rebecca) Wagner, Boston, MA, Dennis (Debra) Wagner, Minneapolis, MN, Neil (Yvonne) Wagner, Mequon, four grandchildren: Heidi (Jeff) Reynolds, Tacoma, WA, Cassie & Luke of Mequon, Alexandra of Minneapolis.Adeline was especially excited about a brand-new great granddaughter, Finley Jayne Reynolds of Tacoma. She is further survived by two sisters, Marion (Clarence) Wagner, Valders, Kathleen Otto, New Holstein, five brothers: Gordon (Serena) Polster, New Holstein, Henry (Joyce) Polster, Kiel, Louis (Janet) Polster, Kiel, James (Luanne) Polster, Cleveland, Clarence (Barbara) Polster, Sheboygan Falls, brothers & sisters-in-law, John & Florence Wagner, Kenneth & Marie Bonde, Yvonne Polster, many nieces, nephews, friends and her special "adopted" family, Dan, Maree, Jacob & Ellie Karls.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Paul, DeLyle and Allen and her grandson, Brian.
Adeline will be remembered as a Mom who always had room for one more at the table.
Funeral mass will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 7, 2005 at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Kiel with the Rev. Loren Nys S.D.S. officiating.
Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.
