Stephen Simpson was the son of John Henry Simpson (1922-2001) and Jayne Starkey Hosmer and step son of Harry Hosmer. Stephens' first wife was Wendy McKinsey Simpson with whom he had three children. Two sons, Joseph (Joann) Simpson of Pavilion, New York and Jeffery Simpson of Bliss, New York and a daughter, Stephenie (Matt) Soltez of Washington, Pennsylvania.
Stephen J. Simpson 60, of Port Richey, passed away August 13, 2010. He was the son of John Henry Simpson (1922-2001) and Jayne Starkey Hosmer and step son of Harry Hosmer. He was born in Olean, New York and came here 20 years ago from Bliss, New York where he was a supervisor for the Department of Corrections for the State of New York. He attended Ten Brock Academy in Franklinville , New York. He was a Marine Corps veteran of Vietnam and of the Roman Catholic faith. His memberships include the VFW and American Legion of New Port Richey, Kiwanis Club of Bliss and he was a volunteer fireman for the Bliss-Eagle Fire Department. Stephen is survived by two sons, Joseph (Joann) Simpson of Pavilion, New Yorkand Jeffery Simpson of Bliss; and a daughter, Stephanie (Matt) Soltez, of Washington, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, Mackenzie and Ashton; two brothers, John Simpson of Ohio and Terrance Simpson of New York and a sister, Patricia Bradley of New York. A memorial service will be held Friday, August 20th at 2 p.m. at Michels and Lundquist Funeral Home, 5228 Trouble Creek Road, New Port Richey.
