Born in Virginia, came to Ohio in 1804. Removed from Zanesville, Ohio.

Veteran - War of 1812

Capt. of his own Co.

Inscription:
"William Reynolds in [illegible] of Virginia. He emigrated to Ohio in 1804, and settled in the 10 [illegible] at the foot of the hill, where he departed this life. Aged 50 years.

'Who though formed in an age when corruption ran high - And folly alone seemed with folly to vie - When genius with traffic too commonly trained - Recounted her merits by what she had gained - Yet spurned at those walks of debasement and pelt - And in Poverty's spite dared to think for himself.

Adieu dear friend to each fine feeling true - Thy virtues many and thy foibles few - Those found to charm even vicious minds and these - With harmless mirth the social soul to please.'

Removed from Zanesville, Ohio."
