Brooks graduated from Damascus High School in 1972. Following graduation, he met the love of his life, Bina Sue Miller to whom he was married for 39 years.
Being an active man, he worked as a painter, carpenter, police officer, private detective, and liquor inspector until he retired on disability in 1996. He loved the Lord and trusted Jesus Christ and his Savior and is walking with Him in heaven. His church was at Taylorsville United Methodist Church where he was a lay speaker.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by sons and daughter-in-laws Blake and Amanda Allgood of Mt. Airy, Brent and Kaitlyn Allgood of Sykesville, a grandson Mason Allgood, in whom he delighted; sisters Nita Lawson and husband Mark of New Market and Stacey Smith and husband Ricardo of Frederick; an aunt Betty Baker of Mt. Airy and an uncle Arlen Allgood of Oklahoma.
Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at the Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Taylorsville United Methodist Church, 4356 Ridge Rd., Mt. Airy, MD 21771 with his pastor, Sarah Dorrance officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the MS House, Inc., P.O. Box 768, Westminster, MD 21158, where he was a member of the board of directors.
