Mrs. Abbie Carr Field, one of the most respected residents had died Saturday evening, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fred Eldred, in Milford where she had gone on Christmas. She had had a hard cold which developed into pneumonia. Mrs. Field was born in New Lisbon in 1844, the daughter of Arnold and Elizabeth Carr. In 18?2 she married Hezekiah Field. For many years they resided near Mt. Vision. Since his death a number of years ago she has had her home with her children,, residing much of the time with her daughter, Mrs. Gilbert Marlette. To Mr. and Mrs. Field were born seven children, four sons; Van, who died in infancy; Fred, who was killed eleven years ago in Oneonta; George, who resides in Binghamton; Burton, residing on the old homestead, and three daughters, Jennie, wife of Clarence Bunn of South Hartwick; and Tressa, wife of Fred Eldred of Milford, and Lizzie, wife of Gilbert Marlette. Her body was brought to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Marlette, Sunday where the funeral was held Tuesday. Burial next to her husband .Our Mt. Vision Reporter.
