Russell Wayne "Rusty" Jennings, 37, husband of Sherry (Wales) Jennings, of Spartanburg, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Born in Spartanburg, February 2, 1968, he was a son of Bennie Jennings and Becky (Sherbert) Jennings.

Rusty was a 1986 graduate of Dorman High School, and had been employed with Young Engineering as a machinist for ten years. He attended St. Matthews Episcopal Church with his family, and enjoyed coaching Tee-ball for the YMCA.

Surviving, in addition to his wife and parents, are a son, Nolan Alfred Jennings of the home with whom he had a special bond; a brother, Mitchell Jennings of Cowpens; his father- and mother-in-law, Alfred and Jean Wales of Spartanburg, and a step-mother, Kathy Hines Jennings.

The family received friends Thursday, September 15, 2005 at Lanford-Dunbar Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Funeral services were held 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 16, 2005 in the Lanford-Dunbar Funeral Chapel with Rev. Robert L. Brown. Burial followed in Heritage Memorial Gardens.

In remembrance of Rusty Jennings, memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of South Carolina, 500 Taylor Street, Suite 101, Columbia, SC 29201-2000.
