STREATOR — James K. "Moose" Renner, 45, of Streator, passed away at 8:15 a.m. Monday, Jan. 2, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator. Monsignor Philip Halfacre will officiate. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. Burial will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Streator. Pallbearers will be Dan Sabol, Mike Dorsam, Bill Flanagan, Mike Renner Jr., Brad Coughlin and Jeff Brown.
Born Oct. 1, 1966, in Streator, he was the son of Kenneth and Peg (Coughlin) Renner.
He is survived by a daughter, Allyson E. Renner of Bloomington; his parents, Ken and Peg Renner of Streator; uncles, Mike (Jean) Renner of Streator and Tom (Judy) Coughlin of Ransom; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Leona and Norbert Coughlin and paternal grandparents, Michael and Margaret Renner.
Born and raised in Streator, he attended St. Stephen's Grade School and graduated from Marquette High School, Class of 1980. He graduated from Illinois Valley Community College in 1982. He also attended Illinois State University.
He worked through the years for Owens Nursery and the Pantagraph, both in Bloomington. He was currently working for Teleperformance in Streator.
He was a member of the former St. Stephen's Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Church. He was a former member of the Monsignor George A. Dzuryo Knights of Columbus Council 790.
Moose was very active with Streator Youth Baseball, having coached for several years.
