Gertrude (Bruce) (Pulley) Roberts was born on March 3, 1910 in Davidson County, Tennessee, the daughter of John Alexander Bruce (1862–1942) and Maggie (Sexton) Bruce (1863–1942).


She was married 1st in 1925 to John "Thomas" Pulley (1888–1947), and he was the son of William Thomas Pulley (1844–1933) and Josephine (Kent) Pulley (ca 1857– ). Gertrude was married 2nd to Thomas Roberts.


Gertrude was living in Nashville, Davidson County and was 68 years old and married when she passed away at Baptist Hospital, Nashville on June 25, 1978 following a sudden illness.


Survivors included her husband, a son, three stepsons, two daughters, a stepdaughter, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.


Burial was in Riverview Cemetery, Clarksville.
