Joan M. Fifer, 78, of New Richmond died Saturday September 21, 2013 at her residence. She was born May 21, 1935, in Lafayette to the late Raymond and Hilda Klaiber Feaster. Joan graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School and on June 15 1958 she married Jack Fifer in Lafayette and he survives. She and her husband have farmed in New Richmond since 1958. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church and had been a Teachers Aid at Linden Elementary School.

Surviving along with her husband is her daughter Kathy A. Vaughn husband Mike of Lafayette, grandchildren Kevin Vaughn wife Abby of Huntington, Ashley Davis husband Ryan of Fishers and great grandchildren Jackson and Spencer Vaughn.

Visitation will be 5-8 PM Tuesday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Tyckenham Blvd. Friends will be received 1 hour prior to a 3:00 PM service on Wedensday at St. James Lutheran Church, Pastor David French officiating.
