Mrs. Beal Passes Away.
Sarah McClamrock was born in Butler county, Ohio, March 5, 1821.
Here she was married to Wm. M. Beal, September 1840. To this union were born five children, Daniel F., deceased, James M., who resides near Edina, Martha Ellen who died in infancy, Mary Portia widow of Dr. Barnett who resides in Edina and John F., who also resides in Edina.
The two eldest sons were born in Ohio. The family afterwards removed to Crawfordsville, Indiana where they resided until 1852 when they removed to Knox county, Missouri. Here they settled upon the large farm near Fabius where the children were reared and from whence they married. Mr. and Mrs. Beal then removed to Edina where eleven years ago Judge Wm. Beal passed away.
Mrs. Beal passed to her reward May 3rd 1907; aged eight-six years one month and twenty eight days.
Besides the children enumerated, Mrs. Beal leaves fourteen grand children and four great grandchildren. Six of her grandsons were pall bearers at the funeral of their aged grandmother.
Mrs. Beal was a member of the M. E. Church for more than sixty years. She was a faithful wife and a tender and loving mother. She loved her home and its duties, and found her earthly paradise around the fireside.
She was a woman of quick sympathies and a social and kindly nature.
Age did not seem to weaken her power of mind or deaden her sense of right until affliction bore her down with a heavy hand and this she bore with a patience remarkable for one so old. Her wholesome principles and exemplary life will long be remembered. Thus has passed one of the heads of an old and respected family.
May her example be emulated by those who come after her.
