Jo Ann Harper, age 82, of Blairsville, GA passed away on Friday, November 5, 2021 at Sonshine Manor Personal Care Home in Blairsville. Mrs. Harper was born on July 2, 1939 in Ducktown, TN to the late Ray Nicholson and Lena Payne Nicholson. She was of Christian faith, and a member of Coletown Baptist Church. Mrs. Harper worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas Eugene "Pete" Harper; and brothers, Ray Nicholson Jr., Willard Nicholson, and Reid "Monk" Nicholson.

Mrs. Harper is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Shana Harper of Ellijay, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Tom Adams of Farner, TN; grandchildren, Miranda Shields, Laura Adams Collis, Jake Harper, and Lindsey Owen; great-grandchildren, Zoe Green, Lilah Shields, Zeb Sheilds, Janie Wilson, Kadin Harper, Bentley Owen, Josh Owen, Spencer Jones, Thomas Jones, Isaac Jones, and Jazlin Owen; sister, Barbara Pittman of Turtletown; sisters-in-law, Betty Henson Nicholson of Columbus, GA, and Betty Powell Nicholson of Turtletown; as well as, many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Smith officiating. Music will be provided by the Coletown Baptist Church choir. The family will visit with friends at the funeral home on Saturday, November 13, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until the memorial service hour of 4:00 p.m. Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill is in charge of the arrangements.
