OBIT: Frank Wilson, an early settler of Henry county, died at his home on the Asa Crook farm in Atkinson township, Monday Sept 13 1897, aged 50 years and 4 months from blood-poisoning. Deceased had suffered several paralytic strokes and had been an invalid for several years. He was a native of Canaan, Grafton County, New Hampshire born May 14, 1847. He came with his parents to this county in 1856, settling in Edford township. With the exception of a few years he was in business with the late E. M. Way in this city, his home was in Edford up to 1873 when he purchased the place where he died. July 26th, 1871 he was united in marriage with Miss Aletha Sheriff, daughter of Samuel Sheriff of this city. Of this union four children were born - three sons, Frank, Otis and Harold, who, with his devoted wife mourn his death. A daughter died in infancy.

Mr. Wilson was a man of good attainments and was honored with frequent official trusts by his neighbors in Edford, having served as town clerk, collector, justice of the peace, assessor and in minor school offices.

He united with the First M.E. Church in Geneseo about 23 years ago and remained a steadfast, earnest and helpful member till death. His family have the kindliest sympathy of all in their bereavement.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Rev. W.A. Schulte officiating, and he was laid to rest in the family burial lot in Edford cemetery, beside his parents and little daughter. A large concourse of friends accompanied the funeral cortege.
