Ruth R. Kuhn, age 88, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Friday, September 20, 2013, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. She was born June 17, 1925, in Fulda, daughter of the late Albert and Ida Arnold Crock. She was employed by J.C. Penney in Newark, Zanesville, and Tiffin and she was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caldwell, its Christian Women's Club, and the Daughters of Isabella in Zanesville. She loved spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, by whom she was fondly known as "Woody". She enjoyed crocheting, she was an avid reader, and she was known as a dedicated correspondent, who never missed sending birthday, anniversary, or get well cards.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Irene Dalton and Vera Sorg; and one brother, Ronald Crock.

Surviving are her husband, Lawrence D. Kuhn, whom she married November 5, 1946; two daughters, Connie A. (J.C.) McLendon of Zanesville and Jane A. (Bud) Sanders of Heath; one son, Keith A. (Katie) Kuhn of Newark; three sisters, Gladys Archer of Caldwell, Laverne King of Cleveland, and Joanne (Bob) Smithberger of Pataskala; two sisters-in-law, Betty Crock of Pickerington and Roma Paige of South Weymouth, Massachusetts; eight grandchildren, J.P. Hardcastle, Jason Hardcastle, Justin Hardcastle, Andrew Hahn, Patrick Hahn, Kelli McVay, Kristin Gilligan and Kevin Kuhn; 9 great-grandchildren; amd several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
