Carl A. Corsi, 88, of Greensburg, died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008, at his home. He was born March 5, 1920, in South Greensburg, a son of the late Joseph and Edna Mae (Meynet) Corsi. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed by Westinghouse Electric, East Pittsburgh, from 1941 to 1982. He was a member of St. Paul Parish, Greensburg, a charter member of American Legion Post 981, South Greensburg, had been a PIAA Basketball official from 1946 until 1968, and a timekeeper for the Greensburg High School Basketball. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the Navy as a photographer's mate from 1942 to 1945. He was a graduate and devoted alumnus of Greensburg High School. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Joseph Corsi. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Elizabeth J. (Falcon) Corsi; a son, Joseph Corsi, of Greensburg; a daughter, Marcia DePaul and her husband, Louis, of Greensburg; two grandchildren, Louis and Jaclyn DePaul; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 516 Stanton at Green streets, Greensburg. Prayers at 9 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in St. Paul Parish with the Rev. Thomas A. Federline as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Greensburg Catholic Cemetery with full military honors accorded by the American Legion Post 981 Honor Guard.
