LYNCHBURG, VA. – Mae Mary Allen, 92, passed away Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, at her home.

Born in Youngstown on Sept. 27, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Gerald Paul Allen and Mae Mary Mast Allen.

Mae enjoyed hospitality and loved her 46 year long career in nursing, having served as a medical missionary in Central African Republic. She was a former member of the Struthers Baptist Tabernacle in Struthers, a member of Baptist Mid- Missions in Cleveland, and the Thomas Road Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mae was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Irene Hope Mad-Bondo; two brothers, Gerald Allen and Karl Allen; and a sister, Edna Allen Harford.

Mae leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter, Julie Mad-Bondo and husband Cyrus of Lynchburg; two grandchildren, Rebecca Mad-Bondo and Michael Mad-Bondo of Lynchburg; a brother, Glenn Allen of Columbiana; and a sister, Thelma Saulpaugh of Pulaski, Pa.; and a special friend, Wyzetta Titus of Lynchburg, Va.

Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.
