Bryan William Bird, a proud 97 year old Midvale resident, passed from this life the morning of December 4, 1996.

Bryan, the first born son of William Arthur and Mary (May) Amelia Bryan Bird, was born in Springville, Utah on November 5, 1899. Bryan grew up and was schooled in Springville. He spent the summers of his youth working at various jobs throughout the western states and Canada. In high school he was active in sports. He attended the University of Utah for one year. During World War I, he served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Midvale 4th LDS Ward of the LDS Church and enjoyed the Midvale Senior Citizens. He moved to Bingham Canyon, Utah in 1923. He was employed by the Utah Copper Company until 1936 when he became a distributor for AMACO and owned several businesses. He retired in 1966. He was the last surviving Charter Member of the Bingham Lions Club. He met Hazel Hartman and they were married on April 14, 1924, in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were married for 66 years until December 12, 1990, when Hazel died.Bryan is survived by four daughters and three sons-in-law, Marion and Arthur Millerberg, West Jordan; Gloria Ventura, Taylorsville; Joanne and Joe Buhler, Midvale; Pauline and Howd Jensen, Murray; 11 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; brother, Dean Bird, Springville; sisters, Thelma Harmer, Payson; Clara Averette, Springville; several sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers and one sister; son-in-law, Tony Ventura; grandson, Douglas Millerberg.

Funeral services Saturday, December 7, 1996 at 1 p.m. in the Goff Mortuary 8090 So. State, where friends may call Friday 6-8 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to services. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Midvale Senior Citizens Center, 140 Park Street, Midvale, Ut 84047, would be appreciated.
