Lisa J. Jones Higgins 38, Indianapolis, passed away Monday, January 24, 2011. Lisa was employed by the Indianapolis Star and News for many years and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She was past Honor Queen of Bethel 67 and was Miss Indiana Jobs Daughters. She was a girl's softball coach for Lowell Little League and involved in the PTA at Liberty Park Elementary. Lisa was very active in the Eastside community. She is survived by her husband, Vincent and was the loving mother of Christopher, Hannah, Emily, Karissa and Zoe. Other survivors include her parents, Chester and Jean Jones and grandmother Enola Walls. Prayers will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, January 29 in Oakley-Hammond Funeral Home, Moore & Kirk Irvington Chapel, 5342 E. Washington St., followed by Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 28 in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lisa's memory may be made to her beloved children in care of the funeral home.
