Ernest Clive Fortner, III, (Emie), 42, of 1412 English Forest Rd. Pulaski, died Sunday, November 4, 2001, in the Pulaski Health Care Center.

Born August 18, 1959, in Princeton, W.Va., he is the son of Faye Nunn Fortner and Ernest C. Fortner, Jr., of Pulaski, and is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Alex "Chari" Massie of Richmond.

Ernie was preceded in death by his grandparents, Raymond and Capitola Nunn and Ernest C. and Sarah Fortner.

He was a 1977 graduate of the Pulaski County High School and a 1993 graduate of the Embry Riddle Aeronautical University of Daytona Beach, Florida.

A private funeral service will be held Tuesday with Dr. Randy Frye officiating. Visiting will be anytime after 2 p.m. Monday at Thomas M. Seagle & Sons Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. The family will receive flowers, but a fitting tribute to Ernie would be memorials to the American Diabetes Association, Virginia Affiliate, Inc. 404 8th St. N.E., Suite C, Charlottesville, Va. 22902
