Evelyn Jeanette "Granny" Anderson Corvin, age 94, died Sunday, February 17, 2008 at 11:45 pm, at Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, VA after a period of declining health.
She was born April 15, 1913 in Damascus, VA, she was the daughter of Katherine and Lon Anderson.
She was a member of Friendship Chapel Baptist Church, Bristol, TN and had lived the past 25 years at Leisure Park Towers, Bristol, VA. Her last year was spent at Grace Healthcare in Abingdon, VA. She loved to read her bible, sew, crochet and was an avid musician.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Joe Corvin, a renowned preacher and local barber; and her four brothers. She was the last surviving member of her family in her generation.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at 2:00 PM in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with her beloved Pastor Noah Stout officiating.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 12:30-1:45PM for the family to receive friends and to view a video tribute in celebration of Mrs. Corvin's life.
The burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery where Mrs. Corvin will be laid to rest beside "Bro Joe" her husband of 43 years, before his death in 1971.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff of doctors and nurses at Johnston Memorial Hospital; special friend, Brenda Clark; the caring friends of Grace Healthcare and to Dr. Bernard Grunstra who gently and graciously aided Mrs. Corvin during her years of medical needs.
